rmmn was originally designed to remove bloated MakerNote sections
from digital camera image files.
In September 2005 the program was rewritten to also deal with files with blank sections and non-consecutive data fields. Since the new version not only removes the MakerNote but also makes all data fields consecutive with no empty spaces between them, the new version will save even more disk space. Hence, it was renamed to exifcleaner.
